2023 marks the 10th anniversary of the “Belt and Road” initiative and is a crucial year for the recovery of the civil aviation industry post the COVID-19 pandemic. Drawing on the platform of the China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS), the 5th “Air Silk Road” International Forum (ASRIF), which themes “Building the Air Silk Road with High Quality and Energizing China’s Modernization with High-level Services”, has invited over 300 delegates from ministries of China, international organizations, representatives of the embassies and consulates in China, academicians, airports and airlines, aviation economic zones, port logistics enterprises, research institutions, as well as investment and financing institutions, to advance the construction of the “Air Silk Road.”
The 5th ASRIF will focus on specific topics centered around the aviation industry’s recovery, international collaboration, green development, and digitization. It will delve deeply into various industry hot topics such as the development of the “Air Silk Road,” the high-quality construction of Air Silk Road pilot zones, aviation carbon emissions reduction, smart civil aviation, low-altitude economy, and urban aerial transportation. The event will also feature specialized activities for the launch of numerous new technologies, products, and related achievements, including the Development Index Report on China’s Airport Economy 2023, the Development Index Report on China’s Aviation Logistics Hubs 2023, The “Air Silk Road” Excellent Cases in Services 2023, and pilot projects like “Carbon Neutral Airports and Carbon Neutral Parks.”
The China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS), hosted jointly by the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China and the People’s Government of Beijing Municipality, is the world’s only national-level, international, integrated platform for trade in services approved by the CPC Central Committee and the State Council. The ASRIF, as a core forum of the CIFTIS focusing on civil aviation and the Belt and Road Initiative cooperation, has been held for four consecutive years (2019, 2020, 2021, 2022) and has become the institutional brand forum of the CIFTIS.
